I was
born in 1947.
My interest in art was realized early in life.
I attended my first formal class in art at the
Cleveland Institute of Art during my junior high years.
I majored in art and music in high school.
Later I took classes at Cooper Art School
and scattered art courses at Cuyahoga Community College,
while raising and supporting five wonderful children.
I attended various drawing courses.
Black and white design,
Color design, Painting, &
Sculpture.
As of late, I have
been working on writing and illustrating several books. I started with
a book dedicated to my children and grandchildren called "Opposite Worlds"
and have followed that book up with two sequels; "Opposite Worlds Combined"
and "The Land of the Behemoth". I have also written a book of poems
and illustrated them and it is called, "Muses". I am now working on a
U.S. President's book inspired by the work on my
U.S. Presidents Page. I
have preserved my work by laminating each page and used a plastic comb
binding machine to put them together. In the near future I will be
exploring the publishing of my work.
I am a laborer by
trade and am
looking forward to my retirement
when I can devote my full attention
to my continued studies in portraiture.
On a personal note...
Fall of 2007 I celebrated my 30 year wedding anniversary
with my wonderful husband, Gary. Between us we have eight wonderful children,
Gary, Carol, Tracey, Maureen, James, Margery, Marian and Milissa. We also have
ten grandchildren,
John, Billy Lee, Nichole, Gary, William,
Joseph, Jessica, Rebecca, Sadie, Sydnie,
who have been the object of many different art projects.
We are also proud to say we are now "Great Grandparents" thanks to our granddaughter, Nichole, who had a baby boy named Noah and a girl named Makalia. In addition, Billy has a son named Robert and John has a boy named Brody. So there are now four great grandkids on the Morton side.
I have one sister, Margery,
and I am an Aunt to a niece and a nephew, Andrew and Kathy. I am a
great aunt to seven. (I'm showing my age!)
I love to visit our beautiful campsite
and spend weekends with my husband on
our pontoon, enjoying the elements.
The End...for now!
